CHURCH IN THE PARK...
CHURCH IN THE PARK 2019 / WEDNESDAY 29 MAY - SUNDAY 2 JUNE / HOUNDWELL PARK
Following on from the adventure we had in 2017, we are keen to continue our partnership in the gospel and be actively sharing the good news of Jesus in the heart of our city by partnering again in a city mission next spring. As an SCN church, we would love your wholehearted involvement. Can you help us? Here is what you can do:
PRAY - Please pray for the city, and for the team planning the event.
PLAN - Please let us know if you would like involvement at the planning stages.
PEOPLE - Please begin to think of who might have gifts and abilities that will serve the event (such as hospitality, children, evangelism, administration, sports).
POUNDS - Please plan to partner with us financially. If every church is generous, then we will be able to put on a wonderful event to the glory of God, and see many lives transformed. The budget for the whole event is just under £20,000, so please be super-generous!
Please register to serve by buying a Volunteer Ticket - it requires a small contribution of £10 towards administration and to produce your Church In The Park 2019 T-Shirt.

You can do so through Eventbrite here!
OTHER INFORMATION...
SOUTHAMPTON HOUSE OF PRAYER (SoHOP) UPDATE:
The first 4 sessions of the Southampton House of Prayer have gone really well. So far 58 people from 21 churches have been involved and we've prayed through the 24 topics of intercession for Southampton four times. It seems even the Saints football club has been affected!! Please consider the house of prayer as your place for a 1to1 with God or come to join with others in praying for Southampton. On Saturdays between 9am and 6pm you can just drop in. No need to book in advance.
Looking ahead to February and March, we've felt the Lord leading us to specifically pray for churches. If you would like us to include your church, please let us know by emailing info@sohop.org and we will allocate a slot to specifically pray for God's blessing on your congregation.
The regular weekly prayer take place from 9.00pm Friday till 9.00pm Saturday, in the sacred space situated in 286 Burgess Rd. (home of Swaythling Methodist Church and Citylife).
Further details on the web-site (SoHOP.org), where there is the opportunity to sign up. Also details how to contact us by email or telephone.

ONE MAN'S PASSION/ A ONE MAN PLAY ABOUT THE ONE MAN WHO CHANGED HISTORY
One Man’s Passion is a 45-minute performance that is easy to understand and accessible to all. The story begins with John the Baptist heralding the beginning of Jesus’ earthly ministry and takes us right through to the death and resurrection of Jesus that we celebrate at Easter.
Using minimal props and simple costume changes, the performance incorporates drama, song and live music all performed by one man. The concept of this project is that the performance is very ‘street theatre’ in its style and can be easily taken to various locations, be that shopping
precincts, local parks or your church buildings.
If you would be interested in booking a performance of One Man’s Passion over this Easter season, then please contact neil@e-quiparts.org.uk.
Whilst this production can be performed at any time of the year it would be an ideal Easter outreach opportunity and as this is a limited period, bookings will be arranged on a first come first served basis.
BIBLE COURSE
A notice for church leaders: are you concerned about how little some of your people engage with the Bible? If so, the Bible Course, provided by Bible Society would be good. If you want to know more please contact Chris Hardwick (chris50.hardwick@btopenworld.com), who can give more information or provide you with a sample manual and DVD.
