HOPE UK: Enabling children and young people to make drug-free choices

Hope UK200More and more children and young people today are voluntarily choosing drug and alcohol-free lifestyles, according to recent NHS figures. However, there are still an average of 36 children a day – equivalent to over 1,000 per month - being admitted to hospitals in the UK with alcohol-related conditions. This highlights a continuing and urgent need to educate children and young people about the harm caused by drug and alcohol use.

Hope UK is looking for Christians with a heart for children and young people who are willing to be trained as voluntary Drug Educators in their own communities. The training is free and takes about 120 hours to complete, consisting of distance learning and three hands-on training weekends, held locally. You will be part of a team of volunteers and receive support from Hope UK’s experienced trainers and a local part-time Project Worker. You will be given the knowledge, ideas and practical skills to help children and young people in your community make drug-free choices.
